MarinHealth Orthopedic Care

The MarinHealth orthopedic clinics are dedicated to helping patients return to physical activity and achieve optimal health. We offer general sports medicine as well as specialty care for arthritis; surgical care, including primary and revision total joint replacement for the hip, knee and shoulder; and nonsurgical procedures for the spine.

Our world-class orthopedic specialists treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions using the most advanced techniques, such as minimally invasive procedures that allow for more rapid recovery than traditional surgery. The growing partnership between UCSF and MarinHealth includes a clinic in Marin County and two in Sonoma County.

At the newest clinic, in San Rafael, Marin residents can see UCSF specialists, such as orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine doctors, and get all their orthopedic care (even surgery, if needed) close to home. Dr. Derek Ward serves as the clinic's medical director, and Dr. Jeff Berry and other UCSF orthopedic surgeons see patients here as well. Surgery is performed at MarinHealth Medical Center in Greenbrae.

The San Rafael clinic also includes a podiatric sports medicine specialist who cares for athletes of all ages, treating new or acute injuries as well as overuse or ongoing injuries of the foot and ankle.
